ELMIRA AND CORTLAND BOYS QUALIFY FOR 2017 SNOWBOARD AND FREESKI NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

(16 Mar 17) Cortland NY – Greek Peak Mountain Resort is proud to announce that two of their young riders have qualified for 2017 National Championship through USASA.
The United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) is a California based NFP that is represented by 32 regional series across the USA. The USASA is made up of over 5000 athlete members and 600+ coaches and officials. The USASA hosts 500+ Snowboard and Freeski events annually at approximately 120 ski resorts in the U.S. The USASA National Championships are held annually at Copper Mountain, Colorado and span twelve days with over 1800 participants. The USASA National Championship is the largest snowboard and freeskiing event in the world, and has been held consistently by the USASA for 27 years. https://www.usasa.org/index.php
Michael MacBlane, age 16, an Elmira native, qualified on 2/4/17 at Peek N Peak for Freeski Junior (16-17 men) for slopestyle and rail jam. MacBlane has been skiing since age 5 and calls Greek Peak his home mountain. Landon Rozewski, age 14, a Cortland native, also qualified in February at Peek N Peak for Snowboard Rail Jam in the 14 & over men's division. Rozewski has been skiing since age 4. MacBlane and Rozewski grew up skiing and boarding at Greek Peak with their families. The boys are often found together with a group of friends on the mountain practicing and enhancing their skills. Both have won several Rail Jam competitions at Greek Peak Mountain Resort.
Rozewski will be competing in the Snowboarding Nationals 3/31-4/6 and MacBlane in the Skiing Nationals 4/7-4/12 at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
