GORE MOUNTAIN'S MINI-SHREDDERS RAIL JAM EMPHASIZES FAMILY FUN & SAFETY FOR YOUNG PARK GUESTS
The Popular Mini-Shredders Jibfest awards excellent prizes and encourages young skiers and snowboarders to maneuver safely on park features!
NORTH CREEK, NY – Gore Mountain will host a kids' freestyle competition on Sunday, February 11! Located on the easier-rated Jibland trail serviced by the J-Bar, the features in this beginner park are ideal for introducing new skiers and riders to lower-level elements. The introductory competition includes an optional clinic and is free for all ticketed guests and season passholders. In the clinic, kids ages 10 and under can learn the fundamentals for tackling their first rail and receive tips on making safe maneuvers from the Terrain Park Crew and Snow Sports Staff. After the informative park session, kids show off their tricks during a rail jam in exchange for raffle prizes and a helpful performance evaluation.
The Mini-Shredders Jibfest is designed for young aspiring snowboarders and skiers to feel comfortable on freestyle features in an encouraging and relaxed setting. Parents will be provided materials for making fun signs for cheering kids on, and be sure to join our high-five line! After the Jibfest, a fun awards ceremony will recognize participants for most improved, best techniques, and there will be raffles everyone has a chance at. If 12 or more kids participate, a 2018/2019 season pass will also be awarded.
Registration is free and located in the Base Lodge on February 11 from 9am-10:30am. Terrain park staff will be available on Jibland to help kids with their technique as of 10am.
