First Winter Race in the United State Integrated with Ski Operation, Being Debuted as a 4-Season Sport
(1 FEB 16) Cortland NY – Greek Peak Mountain Resort is pleased to partner with Spartan Race, the world's leading obstacle race company, to host the first winter race held in the United States, that is also fully integrated with an operating ski resort, adding snow and icy terrain to Spartan's challenging obstacles.
The Reebok Spartan Sprint is perfect for athletes of all levels; from Spartan first timers to seasoned racers for both adults and kids. The 3.5-mile Sprint begins at 9am on Saturday, March 4th and heats will start every 15 minutes throughout the day, with the last heat starting at roughly 2pm. The last racer is expected to finish around 6:30pm. On race day, Spartan will utilize Greek Peak Mountain Resort's black diamond trail, Odyssey, and double black diamond trail, Olympian. Olympian trail was recently rated as The Toughest 10: Most Challenging Ski Runs in Upstate NY, by NewYorkUpstate.com. Spartan will also be utilizing Greek Peak Mountain Resort's Adventure and Tubing Center. The race course includes 20-23 well-known Spartan obstacles such as the Sandbag Carry, Snow Tunnels, Rope Climb, Bucket Brigade and Inverted Wall.
