Canandaigua, NY (February 3, 2017) The staff and guests at Bristol Mountain were ecstatic today to learn that Morgan Schild had won the gold in Freestyle Moguls at the 2017 Visa Invitational World Cup event in Deer Valley late Thursday night. She will compete again on Saturday in the Dual Moguls competition.
Schild grew up skiing in the Bristol Mountain Freestyle Program under the direction of Coach John Kroetz. This her third season on the US Ski Team and it is her comeback season as in March 2015 she suffered an injury at the end of that season. She spent a year in rehab and training so that she could compete this season. She is off to a tremendous start with a third place finish in the World Cup event in Lake Placid several weeks ago and last night's first place World Cup finish.
"We are so proud of Morgan and her accomplishments on and off the snow. She has a huge fan base here at Bristol Mountain where we follow her competitions closely", exclaims, Bristol Mountain Director of Marketing, Drew Broderick.
Tonight three former Bristol Mountain Freestyle Team members now on the US Ski Team will compete in the Freestyle Aerials World Cup event at Deer Valley. They are Jon Lillis (Pittsford), Chris Lillis (Pittsford), and Dylan Walczyk (formerly from Rochester).
