Wow, what an incredible combination of athleticism, spirit, and sport at the venues last week. Did you know that the U.S. Biathlon National Championships brought over 200 competitors from across the country to the Lake Placid? It was a record number of biathletes for them and for us!
We’d like to send out a BIG thank you to everyone at ROOST and partners in the community who teamed up with us to welcome home the 2022 Beijing Olympians in the Athlete Parade on Main Street! In case you missed it, check out the highlights video here
Upcoming this Week:
USS Short Track Age Group National Championships at the Olympic Center in the 1932 Rink, Jack Shea Arena
Friday, April 1 – Sunday, April 3
National Short Track Speedskating is back in Lake Placid! Short-track speed skating is a sport that tests the speed, technical skating ability, and aggressiveness of its competitors. Contestants race against each other instead of the clock, making for the most exciting racing to watch! In competitions, multiple skaters (groups – typically between four and six) skate on an oval ice track. The Age Group Nationals will consist of 500m, 777m, 1000m, 1500m distances with men and women competing. More info and tickets here.
