Skiers and Snowboarders Kick Off The Official Snowsports Season at Bristol Mountain
Canandaigua, NY (December 12, 2017) Scott Battle, Brad Harr, Michael Hogenes and Larry Van Dorn received First Chair honors today for the opening of Upper and Lower Rocket Trails at Bristol Mountain for the 2017-18 season. "First Chair is a long standing tradition among skiers and snowboarders and it comes with bragging rights that last the entire season," explains, Bristol Mountain Sales and Marketing Director.

Guests were treated to custom crafted groomed corduroy trails with the added bonus of natural powder provided compliments of Mother Nature. More fresh powder is expected to fall through Wednesday afternoon. When asked what he thought of the day, Scott Battle, raved, "The conditions are great! Lots of fresh powder!"

Bristol Mountain will extend the hours of operation on Wednesday and Thursday to 9am-8pm with night season officially starting this Friday with a closing time of 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 9pm Sunday through Thursday. There is an abbreviated schedule for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Details can be found at

Snowmaking continues as long as conditions permit. Snowsports enthusiasts can visit for updates regarding trail openings. "The opening of trails is a gradual process of building out trails once enough base snow has been accumulated. Once trails are opened snowmaking continues on those trails on a scheduled basis to ensure the trail remains open through the end of the season", states, Mountain Manager, Paul Trippi.

Coming up soon is annual New Year's Eve Celebration. Guest can enjoy the trails until 10pm followed by the staff Torchlight Parade and a spectacular Fireworks Display by Young Explosives. Rocket-It-Science will perform from 7pm-10pm in the Rocket Lodge. There will be an activities area for the kids on the first floor of Rocket Lodge. The Family & Friends Fun Night Special will be available from 4pm-10pm that evening.
