WARWICK, NY -- As Mount Peter prepares for the 2026-27 winter season, the mountain has invested approximately $800,000 in improvements focused on enhancing the learning experience, expanding snowmaking capabilities, modernizing guest services, and improving the overall mountain experience.
The most exciting additions for the upcoming season are significant upgrades to Mount Peter’s learning areas. In the Snow Basin learning area, Mount Peter has installed a brand-new double-wide Sunkid carpet, the only one of its kind in North America. The new carpet allows two guests to ride side by side, providing more space and flexibility in the learning area and creating a more comfortable experience for guests learning to ski and snowboard.
Mount Peter has also relocated a carpet to the new KinderLand area as part of the mountain’s redesigned and improved KinderLand program for children ages 3-5. The new area provides Mount Peter’s youngest skiers and snowboarders with a dedicated learning space designed specifically for their age and ability level.
Mount Peter has also expanded its snowmaking infrastructure with five new tower snow guns, along with electrical upgrades to support additional snowmaking capacity. These improvements will help the mountain continue to expand its snowmaking capabilities and improve efficiency throughout the season.
The $800,000 investment also includes the digitization of the rental process, helping create a faster and more efficient experience for guests, along with additional improvements throughout the mountain and its operations.
These investments reflect Mount Peter’s continued commitment to improving the guest experience and investing in the mountain for seasons to come.
