April 8th, 2024 is the next New York State Solar Eclipse, the next time it happens it won't be until 2079!

When expiring the eclipse be sure to do it safely - check out NASA's "Eclipse Safety" page for information and helpful hints and details. Some ski areas may have eclipse glasses available while supplies last, see their website for details.

For the Solar Eclipse some ski areas are in the path of totality and will be having various parties and viewing events. Below is a list of planned events and some may have a charge. Check the details at their respective websites.

Belleayre Mountain - Highmount - is hosting a partial solar eclipse event with $40 lift ticket pricing and $20 gondola rides for those not skiing. See details at https://www.belleayre.com/event/solar-eclipse/#date=20240408

Buffalo Ski Center - Colden - is hosting Eclipse @Sitz for Members and Trial Members Only - details at https://www.buffaloskicenter.com/product/eclipse-at-sitz/.

Gore Mountain - North Creek - is hosting a solar eclipse viewing event including live DJ and music. Details at https://goremountain.com/eclipse/#date=20240408.

Holiday Valley Resort - Ellicottville NY - is hosting a viewing party including Lift Rides, the Double-Black Diamond Golf Course front 9 holes will be open, live music. The fun begins on Sunday. Details at https://www.holidayvalley.com/activities-events/calendar/?c=9&p=1&page=list&v=list&id=257.

Holimont - Ellicottville NY - will be having a Total Eclipse Party from Noon to 4 including various events. Details at https://holimont.com/events/.

Kissing Bridge - Glenwood NY - is hosting Kissing the Sky party for the eclipse.  Details at https://www.kbski.com.

Peek 'n Peak Resort - Clymer - is hosting the Solar Eclipse event with various viewing stations starting at noon - Details at https://www.pknpk.com/special-events/total-solar-eclipse/.

Snow Ridge - Turin - will host a viewing event from 2 to 4pm for $10 per person including a chairlift ride. Details at https://snowridge.com/event/solar-eclipse-party/.

Swain Resort - Swain - is having an Eclipse Viewing Party with a lift ride to the summit (Adult - $15/Child - $12). Details at https://swain.com/eclipse/.

Titus Mountain - Malone - is hosting "Total at the Top" Solar Eclipse Skiing and Viewing Party. Details and tickets at https://www.titusmountain.com/total-at-the-top.

West Mountain - Queensbury - They are hosting a viewing party at the Main Base Area! The cost is $10 per person if you have your own viewing glasses/$12 if you do NOT have your own viewing glasses (while supplies last). The price includes parking, bon fire, build your own s'mores bar, lawn games and activities. Please bring your own lawn chair for seating and your own sled for sledding (in designated area). Whiteface Mountain - Wilmington - is hosting an eclipse viewing party with a $40 lift ticket special as well as a $50 gondola viewing only special too. Also live music and more - details at https://whiteface.com/event/solar-eclipse-viewing-party-apr-8/.

Woods Valley - Westernville - will experience 30 seconds of the total eclipse and will be having an Eclipse Party - details to follow at woodsvalleyskiarea.com.
