Learn to Ski and Ride at West Mountain. West offers daily group and private lesson instruction to children and adults of all abilities. Our passionate instructors, led by West Mountain's Snowsports On-hill Director Mike Dorman, are trained and ready to help everyone be better skiers and riders. West’s Ski & Ride School is a certified member school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

The Thunder Ridge Snowsports School has been a member school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America for more than 40 years with over 200 trained ski and snowboard instructors. We boast the highest percentage of PSIA certified instructors in the northeast. We teach all levels, from beginner to expert from tiny tots to senior citizens.

Learn to Ski or Board Package – $49 

(ages 6 & up)

This package will take first-timers from equipment use and how to get started through locking into their skis, and how to stop. Students will start on the Magic Carpet and learn the basics of the pizza wedge maneuvers and how to turn on the hill. This package includes an All-Day lift ticket for the magic carpet zone, rentals, and a group lesson at regularly scheduled lesson times.

Holiday Valley Snowsports School is PSIA and AASI Certified. Skiing, snowboarding, cross country and telemark skiing are taught by instructors who use the PSIA-AASI National Standards, giving consistency with other schools around the country. Our instructors attend continuing education clinics to familiarize themselves with the most recent teaching techniques, equipment innovations and the mental aspects of learning and improving your skiing or riding. The School offers children’s group lessons for kids from ages 4-11 and adult group lessons for ages 12 and up.
