SKI NY Ski Report Podcast for December 7, 2024

Hey skiers and riders this is pat from SKI NY and here's your ski report for Saturday. Ski areas got some fresh snow Friday and a few will be getting more on Saturday. Also today a bunch of ski areas are starting their season and there are over 25 open this weekend. Its going to be a great weekend of skiing and riding, get out and enjoy it.
Here's today's report.
In the adirondacks and north country
Dry Hill Ski Area is skiing on 7 trails and is open from from 10am to 9pm and they have tubing open on 4 chutes from noon to 6
At Gore Mountain they have 13 trails and 4 lifts open from 830 to 4 and a 6 to 12 inch base
Lapland Lake Cross Country Ski Center received 6 inches of new snow and they are open from 9 to 4:30. The have 30k of cross country trail open with 12k of snowshoe trail too. This weekend they have their open house sale, details at laplandlake.com.
Maple Ski Ridge is opening for the season Saturday from 9am to 4pm and they will have the double chair running. The bunny hill will have walk up access only and they do note they have limited beginner terrain.
McCauley Mountain plans to open on December 26
Mount Van Hoevenberg Opens for the Season Saturday with 4 inches of new snow with 41.3k of trail from 9am to 4pm.
Oak Mountain's going to open on the 14th however they got their holiday fair this Saturday, see details at oakmountainski.com
Royal Mountain will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm with 12 trails and their glades open.
Titus Mountain will start their season on December 13th from 4pm to 9pm
West Mountain starts their season today with 6 trails and 2 lifts from 8:30am to 6pm on a 10 to 20 inch base.
Whiteface Mountain received 6 inches of new snow and has 24 trails open with 5 lifts on a 17 to 31 inch base are open till 330. They are expecting more snow too.

in the Catskills and Hudson Valley region.
Belleayre Mountain has 27 trails and four lifts open until four on 6 to 24 inch base. They also have 9.2 K across country
Hunter mountain got another 5 inches of new snow and they have 13 trails and 5 lifts open from 9 to 4. They will have a DJ on Saturday and a band on Sunday!
Plattekill plans to open on December 14th
Windham Mountain Club received 1 inch of fresh snow and they have 19 trails open on a 6 to 12 inch base with 3 lifts from 8am to 4pm. They will have more lifts spinning this weekend.
In the Hudson Valley Region
Catamount Ski Area has 8 trails and 3 lifts on a 6 to 36 inch base from 8:30am to 4pm.
Mount Peter opens their season Saturday with 3 trails and 2 lifts on a 18 to 24 inch base from 9am to 4pm. Also tubing is open on 4 lanes from 10am to 4pm.
Thunder Ridge opens their season Saturday with 3 trails and 2 lifts from 1pm to 9pm on a 6 to 32 inch base.
In the central of New York region
Cazenovia Ski Club opens their season Saturday with 14 inches of fresh snow and they have been making snow. They have a 1 to 4 inch base and will have all 10 trails and 2 lifts running from 11am to 4pm.
Four Seasons Ski Center is looking to start their season on December 21st
Greek Peak Mountain Resort received another 2 inches of new snow and they will open 17 trails with 5 lifts from 8:30am to 4pm. Tubing is open too on 5 lanes from 11 to 4.
Labrador Mountain got 6 inches of new snow and will start their season on Sunday.
Song Mountain received 6 inches of new snow and will have their opening day Saturday with a 12 to 30 inch base and 2 trails open with a lift from 10am to 4:30pm.
Snow Ridge opens their season Saturday with a foot of new snow and a 4 to 8 inch base. They have been making snow and will the bunny bowl open with bunny carpet from 10am to 3pm this weekend. They plan to open more terrain next week.
Skaneateles Ski Club plans to open on the 26
Woods Valley Opens their season Saturday with 16 inches of new snow and they have been making snow too. They will have 2 trails and 2 lifts running from 10am to 4pm on a 12 to 36 inch base. They got live music in Tap Room 46 from noon to 3pm with Adam Brooks.
And over in Western New York
Buffalo Ski Center plans to open soon, they will have their office open this weekend from 10am to 2pm
Bristol Mountain starts their 60th season Saturday with 4 inches of new snow in the past couple of days. They will have 4 trails and a lift running on a 8 to 20 inch base from 9am to 4pm.
Holiday Valley received an inch of new snow and they will have 19 day and 18 night trails with 5 lifts open from 8:30am to 10pm on a 8 to 30 inch base. They have 15k of cross country open too until 3:30. Terrain park is open as well. Demo Day coming up next Saturday.
Holimont plans to star their season on December 14th, next Saturday
Hunt Hollow plans to open soon, watch social media for updates
Kissing Bridge opens their 64th season Saturday with 32 inches of new snow this week and 11 trails with 3 lifts open from 9am to 4pm on a 30 to 96 inch base.
Peek 'n Peak Resort starts their 60th season with 4 trails open from 10am to 8pm. They note the main ski lodge will be closed for a private event. 60th anniversary celebration will be happening next Saturday.
Swain Resort plans to open on December 14th
