Chip Seamans of Windham Mountain Club Inducted in the 

SKI NY Hall of Fame at the SKI NY – PORA EXPO

Jamesville, NY (September 23, 2025): Chip Seamans, Chairman of Windham Mountain Club and NSAA Chairman of the Board was inducted into the SKI NY Hall Of Fame on September 16, 2025 at the SKI NY – PORA EXPO.

Chip started skiing when he was a child with family ski trips and skied throughout his school career. Chip graduated from Allegheny College and after a short stint in the oil industry he became involved in teaching mountaineering, climbing and other courses eventually becoming the Ski Patrol director at Sunday River in the late 80’s.

Chip became Mountain Operations Manager and then Managing Director at Sunday River after a few years. Chip also worked at Willis Insurance until 2005. Chip then headed for the mountains yet again this time as President and General Manager of Kirkwood Mountain Resort in California. 

In 2011 Chip moved back to the Eastern US as General Manager of Windham Mountain Resort where he has spent over 14 years working and transforming the resort to Windham Mountain Club. This is his 15th and last season at Windham.

Chip has been a board member of SANY for 13 years and served six years as Chairman of the Board leading the Association through challenging times including COVID. Chip is the current Chairman of the Board of National Ski Areas Association.

In recognition of service to the sport of skiing and snowboarding in New York State, the officers, directors and members of Ski Areas of New York, Inc. elected Chip Seamans to the SKI NY Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame honors those who make significant contributions by rendering their time, efforts, and skills to the betterment of our organization in support of skiing and snowboarding in New York State. The Hall of Fame Award has a select club of 30 members dating back to 1982.
