SKI NY - PORA Wrap Up a Successful EXPO at Holiday Valley Resort

The EXPO Educates, Entertains and Delights

Jamesville, NY (September 23, 2025): The SKI NY – PORA EXPO was held on September 15 – 17 at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville, NY. The annual three-day event is held every September and hosts ski areas, suppliers and industry educators. 

This EXPO featured over 350 attendees including over 35 ski areas.  Ski area attendees were from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ontario, Canada. 

Also featured were 60 exhibiting companies that provide equipment and services to the industry.  These companies offer lifts, insurance, snowmaking equipment, groomers, software and other essential items that are vital to the industry.

A key part of the EXPO is education, and this year was no exception. There were over 30 seminars offered covering lift and snowmaking operations, marketing, management and risk management. The National Ski Areas Association and MountainGuard held their annual Fall Education Series Workshops. NSAA also hosted their Lift Bootcamp educating lift maintenance techs and staff on running their operations more safely and efficiently.

The EXPO also featured a great 80’s theme party presented by the staff at Holiday Valley featuring the live band “Nerds Gone Wild” they performed hits from groups in the 1980’s. Also, Young Explosives Display Fireworks did their usual fantastic a great show on the first night of the EXPO. 

Chip Seamans was presented with the SKI NY Hall of Fame Award and Mary Jo and Steve Zweig were honored with the Stafford Safety in Skiing Award.

For 2026 the EXPO will be held at the Lake Placid Conference Center in Lake Placid, NY on September 21 – 23. Details and information will be posted to iskinyexpo.com.
