U.S. Freestyle Aerial Team to Train at Bristol Mountain

Press Conference and Public Exhibition Event Announced

Bristol Mountain, NY — The U.S. Freestyle Aerial Team will bring elite-level skiing and athleticism to Bristol Mountain as they begin an intensive training session from December 31 through January 1.

To mark the start of training, a press conference will be held on December 31 at 6:00 p.m. in the Rocket Lodge. Members of the media and the public are invited to attend and hear directly from athletes and team leadership about preparations for the upcoming U.S. domestic World Cup events in Lake Placid this January. These events serve as Olympic qualifying competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Cortina, Italy.

Immediately following the press conference, the public is invited to attend a freestyle aerial exhibition at 7:00 p.m. on Mikey’s Jump, located on the Challenger Trail. The exhibition will showcase high-flying aerial maneuvers and provide spectators with a rare, up-close look at some of the world’s top freestyle ski athletes in action.

“Training at Bristol Mountain provides an exceptional environment for our athletes to refine their skills and push their limits,” said Matt Gnoza, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Freestyle Sports Director. “The natural terrain and outstanding support from the Bristol Mountain staff have been instrumental in our preparation. Our team is focused, motivated, and excited about the progress we’re making as we head into critical competitions.”

“Bristol Mountain is proud to host these elite athletes as they prepare for the 2026 Olympics,” said Steve Fuller, Vice President of Bristol Mountain. “We invite the community to join us for an unforgettable evening of world-class freestyle skiing.”

Bristol Mountain will also host a New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., featuring music by DJ Olliewood, family-friendly activities for kids, and a spectacular evening finale with a torchlight parade down the mountain at 9:20 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
