Vol. 12 | October Issue #1
The
Oak Mountain Times
Hi Oak Mountain Family!
What a way to welcome fall! We are so incredibly thankful for another wonderful Oaktoberfest this past Sunday. The weather may not have been exactly what we ordered, but that certainly didn’t stop everyone from making the most of it! Thank you to all of our guests who embraced scenic lift rides in the rain, our outdoor vendors who toughed it out, our musicians, volunteers, and staff who kept the fun going, and everyone who came ready to enjoy the food, drinks, foliage, music, shopping, and great company. Days like that are such a great reminder of what makes this community so special. If you missed it this year, we hope you’ll join us next fall!
And speaking of fall… WOW! The colors around Oak are absolutely beautiful right now. We really think this might be some of the best foliage we’ve seen in a long time, and we’re soaking up every bit of it while it lasts.
Of course, around here, fall also means winter isn’t far behind! Conner and Matt have been busy mowing and weed-whacking all over the mountain, while the rest of the behind-the-scenes projects continue to pile up and get checked off. Matt, Conner, and Tucker also just returned from a few days at the annual Ski Areas of New York Expo, where they spent time attending seminars, learning, catching up with others in the ski industry, and visiting with vendors as we prepare for another season.
We’ve also been busy behind the scenes working on our SnowCloud storefront, with the goal of making it easier to navigate and creating a smoother experience for everyone as we head into winter.
It’s hard to believe we’re already saying it, but ski season really is right around the corner! There’s still plenty of fall to enjoy, but our minds are quickly turning toward colder nights, snowmaking, groomer tracks, chairlift rides, and welcoming all of you back for another winter at Oak.
As always, thank you for supporting this little mountain and the community that surrounds it. We couldn’t do what we do without all of you.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
The O’Brien Family

There’s still plenty of riding season left, and fall might just be our favorite time to hit the trails! With Stage One of our Bike Park expansion officially complete, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next. Fundraising continues to help us grow, improve, and add even more to the Oak Mountain Bike Park. Every donation, big or small, helps keep the momentum rolling!

Winter Is Coming… and Some Things Never Change
There’s something pretty special about looking back at old photos of kids growing up on the slopes at Oak Mountain; especially knowing that, years later, so many of them still call Oak home.
The gear changes, the kids grow up, and every winter brings something new, but that feeling of coming back to Oak never really changes. For generations, this mountain has been a place to learn, grow, make memories, and come home to each winter.
Winter is coming, and we’re getting ready for another one!
Purchase your 2026–27 Season Pass today and come make a few more memories with us this winter. We can’t wait to welcome everyone home to Oak.
