The

Oak Mountain Times

Hi Oak Mountain Family!

Summer is flying by, and thanks to all of you, Oak Mountain has been buzzing with energy! Seeing our Wednesday evenings filled with familiar faces, new friends, and the sounds of live music has been one of the highlights of the season. Thank you for making Music on the Mountain such a wonderful community tradition.

This past weekend, we also had the incredible honor of celebrating one of our own as we hosted Maggie & John's beautiful wedding. Watching an Oak Mountain family story come full circle was truly special, and we wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure together.

Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, as we welcome Tim & Norm to the Oak Mountain stage from 5–8 PM. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, enjoy delicious food and cold drinks from The Acorn, and relax with an evening of live music surrounded by beautiful mountain views. This FREE community event is fun for all ages, and our mountain bike trails will remain open for anyone looking to ride before or after the show. If Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, we'll simply move the festivities inside the ballroom.

Behind the scenes, our crews have been hard at work all over the mountain. Shamus and Conner have been tackling culvert and drainage improvements, while Pops and Eric continue making great progress on the rental shop renovation. Every project helps us create an even better experience for everyone who visits Oak Mountain.

Looking ahead, we're excited for this Saturday, August 8, when Scenic Lift Rides return! Take in breathtaking Adirondack views, enjoy a charcuterie box or one of Chef Carolyn's delicious Abelgardens desserts on your ride, then stick around for Trivia with DJ2T, a campfire, and complimentary s'mores. We're also busy preparing for our exciting August race weekend, featuring the Firetower 5K on August 22 and the OakRunner Trail Run on August 23.

Summer is in full swing, and there's still so much to look forward to. Whether you're joining us for live music, scenic lift rides, mountain biking, great food, or one of our many family-friendly events, we hope you'll make Oak Mountain part of your summer adventures. Check out everything happening below—we can't wait to see you on the mountain!

We look forward to seeing you soon,

The O’Brien Family

Oak Mountain Bike Park LogoMountain Biker

We're excited to officially begin the next phase of the Oak Mountain Bike Park expansion this week—a vision we first shared with our community last year. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and our partnership with Camp of the Woods, we're able to begin Stage One, featuring a new scenic climbing trail that will open the door to even more adventure on the mountain.

This project will be completed in phases, and we're excited to restart our fundraising efforts to help make the entire vision a reality. While we're thrilled to break ground, there's still much more to build, and every donation—big or small—helps move us closer to the finish line. Together, we're creating something that will serve riders of all ages and abilities, strengthen outdoor recreation in the Adirondacks and Speculator Region, and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. Thank you for believing in this project and helping us build the future of the Oak Mountain Bike Park.

If you'd like to support the next phase of the Oak Mountain Bike Park expansion, you can make a donation in one of the following ways:

  • Venmo: @oakmountainski

  • Check: Please make checks payable to Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance (AFTA) and write "Oak Mountain Bike Park" in the memo line.

We are now members of the AFTA (Adirondack Foothill Trails Alliance)! Our hope is to grow this program.

Comprehensive PlanWeddings

Congratulations, Maggie & John!

This past weekend, we had the honor of celebrating the wedding of two very special members of the Oak Mountain family.

A third-generation Oak Mountain skier, Maggie has been part of our team since she was 14, serving in countless roles over the years—from ski instructor and race coach to mountain operations, marketing, and more. She even taught John to ski here, and Oak Mountain quickly became his favorite place. It was only fitting that he proposed at the summit!

We were honored to host their wedding and wish Maggie and John a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure together. Congratulations!
